Unique, modern and cheery…now that’s the type of classroom holiday party I like to throw! Our annual holiday party is always a special time of year for my students and I. This year I decided to throw a “hot chocolate” themed party, something different from the traditional “Christmas” party they have probably experienced in previous years. A hot chocolate party also works great for a December birthday party, office party, or a winter family get-together.
I set up a special party table in the classroom with all the necessary items in a red, aqua blue and white color palette. Keeping with the same colors gives your party a professional and consistent look. I used inexpensive white sheets as the backdrop, with white lights hung over them and a red sheet as the tablecloth.
The table was decorated with light-up snowmen, apothecary jars filled with candy, hot chocolate toppings, brownie bites, and lots of candy canes!
Water bottles were covered with CTP’s Poppy Red Chevron border. It’s a great way to dress up plain water bottles and adds to the festive look of the party table!
Students used CTP’s Snowmen hot spots stickers to decorate their own white, paper cup for their hot chocolate.
They had so much fun decorating their own cup!
While sipping hot chocolate and munching on brownies, students created their very own candy cane necklace! Next week on Inspired In Style, I’m going to share with you detailed instructions and photos on how to make these adorable candy cane necklaces!
