Creating a coordinated and organized classroom is all the rage in “teacher world.” From experience, I was always on the lookout for great storage solutions and items that would keep my room looking neat and tidy. How many of you purchase tubs to hold all of your “school stuff”? I know that when I was teaching, I had a TON of large storage tubs to hold all of my seasonal classroom supplies.
I bet you never thought of using border to “pretty them up,” did you?
While decorating Abby’s (CTP featured teacher) classroom, I noticed that she purchased these large clear, flat tubs (like these on Amazon) to hold all of her items. Instead of ignoring the tubs, she took a few pieces of coordinating border and lined the outsides of the container. She also used coordinating sticky tags to label each tub. I thought this idea was genius! She made each tub look like a piece of coordinated classroom decor in a few easy steps!
Abby also did the same thing with her clear storage drawers.
Take a look!
Abby took her decorating up a few notches with her easy ideas. It’s the small details that make all of the difference when you are decorating any space. Most people would have just left them open and allowed everyone to see all of the “junk” piled up inside. Hiding all of the unattractive items with a piece of border is an amazing way to appear organized and coordinated!
So, when you are decorating your own classroom, don’t forget to line your storage furniture and tubs with extra border! It is a necessary detail that can transform the look of your classroom!
