There is nothing more exciting than the first day of school! Kids come on that first day with new clothes, freshly combed hair, new backpacks, lots of school supplies, and feelings of excitement and nervousness to begin a new year! The anticipation of school starting evokes so many emotions from the students, to the parents, and even the teacher! As a teacher, I loved to capture that first day excitement by taking individual photos of my students!
I use these photos over and over throughout the school year. I love to make a holiday keepsake with them. I also use them to help children identify names with faces. I keep the photos posted in my classroom throughout the entire school year and the children refer to them constantly. Photos are also perfect for graphing and playing name games in the early grades.
The first day of school is special, so their photos should look pretty special too!
I created a Back to School backdrop to use for this keepsake photo!
I used the Dots on Black border to frame my paper (#1932), Poppin’ Pattern letters (#1228), a coordinating 10″ chart card (#5940), Dot-to-Dot letters (#1889), coordinating letter stickers(#4632), and a cute star crown (#2561)!
It was really easy and turned out super cute!
Little kids LOVE crowns! This is a great way to remember names AND they can wear it home on their first day!
Make that first day memorable! Parents will be sure to thank you for a photo that will be a reminder of a special milestone in their child’s life!
