For those of you that don’t know me yet, I’m Melanie Ralbusky, the new Creative Consultant for Creative Teaching Press. It is such an honor to have this position! I have been the biggest Creative Teaching Press fan for years! I’ve always felt that CTP’s products were up to date and reflected teaching and decorating trends in education. I still feel like I need to pinch myself…this is a dream come true!
If you’ve stopped by my blog, Schoolgirl Style, you might have noticed that my blog mainly consists of decorating ideas. Although I love decorating, I do have another side to me that I don’t get to talk about too often on my blog. In addition to my creativity, I have a deep knowledge and understanding of good teaching and curriculum. Teaching children how to read and write has always been my area of expertise. I understand how children learn, what a great lesson looks like, and what objectives need to be taught. So, I am more than just a girl that creates cute classrooms, I do happen to know a thing or two about teaching!
In addition, I am also a mom to three children. Since I work from home now and they no longer attend daycare, teaching my preschool aged children is another role that I’ve taken on. Utilizing my Early Childhood degree with my own children has become a priority. I hope to show you some easy activities and different lessons you can do with your own children using the great products from Creative Teaching Press!
Taking on this new role as CTP’s Creative Consultant really encompasses everything that I know and who I am as an educator. I am so excited to be involved in all aspects of teaching and learning through this position!
My Schoolgirl Style blog has also helped me to recognize that I have played a big role in inspiring teachers. Teachers that haven’t been excited about teaching in years have expressed their gratitude and have explained that I’ve changed the way they feel about teaching. I’ve heard from new teachers about how I’ve inspired them. I’ve even heard from young people that I’ve inspired them to become a teacher someday. Wow! Who would have thought?!? This really makes me feel good and gives me sense of purpose.
The name of this blog Inspired In Style, seems so fitting for my new role as Creative Consultant and everything I hope this blog can be. I am very passionate about making sure we have good teachers in the classroom. I am dedicated to making their jobs easier and enjoyable! Whether you have your own classroom or you are a mom teaching your own children at home, I hope you will stop by to get ideas and learn something new. Most importantly, I hope that I can inspire you to be the best teacher you can be!
So…here we go, friends! I am excited to get started! Meet me here each week for new ideas, crafts, real lessons that you can prepare quickly and easily, and lots of inspiration!
~Melanie~
