If you follow my blog, you know that I created the cutest caterpillar activity using the 1 inch and 6 inch Poppin’ Pattern Dots.
There are so many amazing learning opportunities with one simple product. Here are some of the ideas I came up with…
As I was looking through Pinterest recently, I found a teacher that created the cutest 100th day activities and one of them was using dots to create a caterpillar with 100 circles! It was adorable! That got me thinking about the activity that I posted in November – it was pretty much the same concept and such an easy and powerful way to practice counting and ordering numbers.
You can either use the large 6 inch cut outs to create the caterpillar OR you can use the small 1 inch cut outs.
Purchasing a package of cut outs is SO much easier than cutting out a zillion circles! Nothing fancy, I just wrote a number with permanent marker on each circle and created a cute caterpillar head to use at the front of our number line.
This is a great activity to use as a whole group OR placing it in a center for students to work on individually.
Your students will have so much fun creating a number line disguised as an adorable bug!
HAPPY 100TH DAY!

Very cute.
I’ve seen it done with post-it notes too but the squares just don’t portray a caterpillar right. LOL
