I had the best time in Atlanta at the NAEYC conference!
It’s always so much fun to travel with the Creative Teaching Press crew! What a great group of people to spend time with! I presented with the legendary Tommie Netzer, who is retiring as CTP’s Creative Consultant. This was Tommie’s last workshop and it was a little emotional at times as she said goodbye to some of her followers. I have such a hard time with things coming to an end and just the mention of her leaving, brought tears to my eyes. I have big shoes to fill as her replacement. So although it was somewhat of an emotional trip, we also had some fun times! Tommie is from Texas, so she taught me how to use “Bless your heart” in a sentence and the meaning of it! She also taught me the difference between “y’all” and “all y’all!” I came home and practiced it a few times on my family. I think that I secretly want to be from the South and have that southern accent!
In addition to learning how to speak southern, I was introduced to Chick fil-A! OH.MY.GOODNESS. We don’t have Chick fil-A’s in Michigan and I’ve never tried it before. After one chicken sandwich, I was hooked. I ate there EVERYDAY! I will be in Atlanta in January with CTP again and you can bet that I will be finding one as soon as I get there!
For those of you that were able to attend NAEYC and my workshop, I know I promised you printables that coordinated with my Alphabet Caterpillar activity! Just click on the link below and print out as many as you would like!
If you weren’t able to attend my workshops, I created an adorable Alphabet Caterpillar activity using the following materials:
6 inch Poppin’ Patterns designer cut-outs #3869
Mini 1 inch Poppin’ Patterns cut-outs #5933
There are a ton of learning opportunities with just these simple materials!
In a nutshell, here are the activities we talked about:
I’ve also attached the powerpoint for you to scroll through if you are interested! Feel free to use the free printables to label your new activity as well!
My next workshops will be at IRA in April. We will be in San Antonio, Texas! If you can make it, I would love to see you there!
